This auction is for:1867 New Orleans Lightering and Wrecking Company Stock Certificate
Founded on Jan. 30, 1867, the company obtained exclusive rights to lighter, buoy, camel, salvage, wreck or dock vessels at the mouth of the Mississippi River by the Louisiana State Legislature on March 23, 1867. Great vignette of a multi-mast tall ship. R44c Civil War revenue stamp on the front. One share issued to D. DeHaven on April 5, 1867. Rare and scarce certificate!
