    Description

    This auction is for:
    1940 Submarine Signal Company Stock Certificate
    Founded in Boston in 1901. The company was the first company to conduct underwater sound research and to develop equipment to be used for increasing safety of navigation. They quickly were the main sonar supplier to the US Navy. In 1945 they were acquired by American Appliance Company, which later became Raytheon.  Green, 2 share certificate issued Dec. 3, 1940. Great vignette! Several revenue stamps on reverse.
