    The San Antonio Genealogical & Historical Society (SAGHS) recognizes individuals who can prove they descend from ancestors who were in Bexar County Texas by 1850 or earlier.  At the time this book was written, SAGHS had recognized 103 people who descend from 51 ancestral families.  This book begun in 2017 and printed in 2019, details the genealogies of these 51 ancestral families.
    In four sections, the book covers historical eras of the settlement of Central Texas:

    Republic of Texas

    The book offers a collection of descendant lineages, personal histories, and family narratives from residents of Bexar, San Antonio, and Bexar County prior to 1850.
    The book includes lineages of 51 ancestral families - ancestors of 103 First Families of Bexar County descendants recognized in the first 20 years of the SAGHS First Families Program.
