The Mg alloy AZ31 shown here was direct chill cast as a 9” diameter billet and was produced with state of the art processing and incredibly pure raw materials. This alloy exhibits moderate strength, good ductility, extremely easy to machine and exhibits excellent vibration damping characteristics - all of these characteristics make this material superior for machine tooling and fast prototypes.
