    Description

    Rare antique Napoleonic era camel saddle
    of the style ordered by Napoleon for his Régiment de Dromadaires (Camel Regiment) in 1798 for use on single-humped camels during his campaigns in Egypt. This piece has a wooden skeleton, consisting of two side rails and three inverted U-shaped brackets, with metal reinforcements and what appears to be ornate copper and possibly ornamentation. 17.0" W x 13.0" H x 51.0".
