Description

A wonderful sculpture sandstone wheel of Dharma figure, the symbols of Buddhism in Thai temples archaeological sites and artifacts 'Thammachak' (Dhammachakkapavattana Sutta, or Dhammachakka) the temple sculpture 15/16th century. The sculpture is in excellent condition which being a natural part of the stones patina, a solid sculpture section, unaltered and unrepaired, beautifully modeled with detailing still clearly visible, and with no evidence of recarved features.
The relatively smooth, yet grainy surface shows even wear on the entire piece, with weathering consistent with age. This skillfully executed image is a superb example of the Thai culture and its dynamic artistry. Its creator has modeled a gracious interpretation of the 'wheel of life or wheel of Dharma' figure form with lively imagination and conviction. The figure is presented on display stand. Beautiful patina, with minor degradation of the surface, with dings, dents, and pitting being a natural part of the stones patina.
